Hurricane Ida Repairs

In 2021, Hurricane Ida touched down at Port Fourchon, Lafourche Parish, Louisiana. It became one of the most mutilating and intense hurricanes to make landfall in the state of Louisiana, second only to Hurricane Katrina. The aftermath of the storm included damages that citizens of Louisiana still feel today, including damaging of important infrastructure such as major highways and buildings. However, the damages were exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, making it increasingly difficult to quickly repair damages or treat those still affected by the pandemic at the time. The hurricane's strength was felt even in the northeastern United States, with tornados and flooding decimating the coast, causing an estimated $65 billion in damages to the United States as a whole. However, Louisiana felt the brunt of it, and its people still need help recovering. The request for proposal comes from Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office (LPSO) and entails repairing, restoring, and reconstruction of LPSO facilities damaged by the hurricane. The facilities include the Transitional Work Program, Criminal Operations Center, Shooting Range, South Lafourche Substation, and the Law Enforcement Complex, all important facilities that remain closed to this day but enable the police to protect and serve.
